Samsung on Wednesday announced it will be holding a Galaxy event on Aug. 27 to introduce the next phone in the Galaxy S26 series. The event will likely be online-only and will begin streaming on Samsung’s website and YouTube channel at 8 a.m. ET or 9 p.m. KST.
The company didn’t reveal which device it will launch at the event, but its press release makes it clearer that the event is meant for the Galaxy S26 FE. Samsung used its latest earnings report to confirm it plans to launch a Galaxy S26 FE by the end of the year.
“The Galaxy S26 series raised the bar with its boldest camera and AI innovations yet, making it easier for users to capture, create and connect every day,” the company says, adding that it will “introduce the newest addition to the Galaxy S26 family” at the event.
Last year, around the same time, on Sept. 4, Samsung held a similar launch for the Galaxy S25 FE and the Galaxy Tab S11 series. Since the press release specifically points to just one device, we don’t expect to see successors to the Tab 11 series yet, although Samsung has previously teased upcoming tablets.
According to Android Headlines, the Galaxy S26 FE could feature a 6.7-inch AMOLED FHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It could be powered by an Exynos 2500 chip, pack a 4,900 mAh battery, and support up to 45W of wired charging.
On the camera front, the report says the S26 FE will feature a 12MP ultrawide, 50MP wide-angle, and 8MP telephoto sensor at the back, and a 12MP selfie camera on the front. Expected colors include blueberry, graphite, and pistachio, and expected pricing is around $799, $100 less than the Galaxy S26.
We’ll have more details about the device in about a week. Stay tuned to PCMag for more coverage of the Aug. 27 Galaxy launch.
