After teasing the new Pocket Nova earlier this week, Retroid is wasting no time showing just what it’s capable of. The specs were soon revealed, and now, the brand has published video footage of the retro 4:3 handheld in action. Pricing details have also been revealed, alongside a pre-order bonus. The Pocket Nova starts at $229 and will be available in four different configurations.
8GB RAM and 12GB RAM options are available, and all four variants ship with 128GB of storage space. Additional accessories for the device include a carrying case, a dual-screen add-on (which has also been shown off), and much more. We’ve noticed that excitement for the retro handheld has been building quickly, with one fan commenting to say it’s “definitive 4:3 retro handheld”.

Before we get into all the details, you should know that Retroid has set the pre-order time for June 27, 1 AM UTC (which is 9 AM China Time, where Retroid is based). For those of you in the United States, this translates to 6 PM Pacific Time and 9 PM Eastern Time on June 26.

As seen in the price reveal above, those who pre-order the Retroid Pocket Nova will also receive a free Bumped Back Shell + Tempered Glass Screen Protector. Those are just two of a list of seven accessories that will be available for the handheld (see below). Nova also ships with a variety of color options, with Retroid’s common Black, 16-bit, and Gamecube (GC) designs being the cheapest.

Overall, the Pocket Nova has shaped up to be an impressive piece of kit and an ideal option for playing classic 4:3 titles at native resolution. On top of that, we can see that the dual screen attachment offers a widescreen aspect ratio for more modern games.
