How Harry Maguire is using AI to help England… at table tennis

Harry Maguire's AI-powered sports tech platform Feedz has been adopted by Table Tennis England to help coaches convert voice notes into structured performance reports, aiming to improve player development. Harry Maguire may have been left at home for the World Cup but the football cult hero is still set to play a part in England’s sporting success – via AI technology.

Feedz, a sports tech platform designed to help coaches and co-founded by Manchester United defender Maguire, has been adopted by Table Tennis England.

The platform helps time-poor coaches by converting their observations from voice notes into structured performance reports which can be easily shared with players.

“Consistency of high-quality tailored feedback is a big challenge for us,” said Evie Collier, coach learning and development manager at Table Tennis England.

“Using Feedz enables players to receive clearly aligned direction and it’s so accessible for coaches to record voice notes, which provide feedback on the go.

“It will allow our coaching community to build consistent development standards across the pathway, driving up the quality of players across the sport.”

Maguire, a mainstay of England’s major tournament campaigns over the last decade but axed on the eve of the current World Cup, co-founded the app with entrepreneur Matt White.

Feedz is already being used in Premier League football clubs, county cricket and US college sports and will now be available at a discount for England’s 700 table tennis coaches.

“Usually there are multiple players to one or two coaches during practice sessions. We knew the technology existed to solve the problem of coaches having insufficient time to provide valuable reports while, at youth level, parents often had little visibility of how their child was progressing,” said White.

“Feedz turns voice notes into clear, structured reports in seconds. It supports coaches working across grassroots sport, schools, academies and professional environments, helping improve communication while reducing dreaded time-draining admin workload.”

It comes after England’s men and women endured a disappointing World Team Table Tennis Championships in London this year, losing all of their matches.
