The iPhone maker becomes the second company ever to hit the milestone, following Nvidia's achievement in late 2025
Apple has not yet officially entered the $5 trillion club. As of late July 2026, the company’s market capitalization was hovering between $4.95 trillion and $4.98 trillion, tantalizingly close but not quite there. Nvidia became the first publicly traded company in history to reach that valuation in October 2025.
To put $5 trillion in perspective, that’s roughly the entire GDP of Japan, the world’s fourth-largest economy.
The road to the milestone #
On July 13, 2026, Apple stock hit record highs above $321 per share. Shares had recently been trading around $327.50, with analysts estimating the company needed roughly a 4% bump to approximately $340 per share to officially cross into $5 trillion territory.
Apple has been pouring resources into AI capabilities across its product lineup, with significant upgrades to Siri serving as the most visible manifestation of that investment. Analysts believe this AI-driven momentum could provide the necessary impetus for Apple to achieve the $5 trillion mark by late 2026.
What the $5 trillion club looks like #
Apple’s journey to this point has been one of the most remarkable wealth-creation stories in corporate history. The company first hit $1 trillion in August 2018, $2 trillion in August 2020, and $3 trillion in January 2022. It has taken until mid-2026 to approach quintuple that original figure.
Why crypto investors should pay attention #
Apple at $5 trillion would be worth more than the entire cryptocurrency market cap. There are currently no established connections between Apple’s valuation and any specific cryptocurrencies or digital tokens, according to recent reports.
