What to expect during CrowdStrike’s Fal.Con: Join theCUBE Aug. 31-Sept. 2
AI attacks on enterprise systems are picking up speed. The just-released CrowdStrike “2026 Threat Hunting Report” documented that China-nexus adversaries exploited critical vulnerabilities within 24 hours of public proof-of-concept release.
CrowdStrike Inc.’s report also highlighted that AI has become both a tool and target for adversaries. Cloud-related eCrime activity surged 171% as malicious actors executed credential theft, cryptomining, LLM abuse and digital financial asset theft. As cybersecurity leaders gather for the annual Fal.Con event in Las Vegas later this month, industry observers will be looking for CrowdStrike’s latest solutions that can keep pace with the AI-fueled threat landscape.
“CrowdStrike is enabling fewer manual investigations, faster containment, better prioritization and more leverage for scarce security talent,” said Dave Vellante, chief analyst at theCUBE Research. “CrowdStrike is all about stopping the breach and the stakes have never been higher in this perpetual race.”

“CrowdStrike is operating in a security market where the boundaries between endpoint, identity, cloud, data and AI security continue to blur,” said Krista Case, principal analyst and practice lead for cyber resilience and security at theCUBE Research. “That creates an opportunity for Falcon to become a broader control plane for enterprise security, but it also raises the bar for platform execution.”
Model-driven AI attacks
One key topic for discussion at this year’s Fal.Con will undoubtedly involve the role of AI models. News reports in July alone documented havoc caused by frontier models from leading providers OpenAI Group PBC and Anthropic PBC “escaping” isolated sandboxes.
OpenAI disclosed that its model hacked into Hugging Face Inc. and a few other unidentified firms. Security researchers from the company recently added new details about the AI-orchestrated attack.
The power of frontier models to exploit vulnerabilities burst into the open earlier this year with the limited introduction of Claude Mythos by Anthropic. CrowdStrike announced in June that it would expand its Project QuiltWorks industry coalition with Amazon Web Services Inc. to harden the cloud attack surface against frontier AI risk.
“Organizations are scrambling to address novel threats from frontier models,” Vellante said. “I’m looking for the AI conversation at Fal.Con to move beyond copilots, assistants and cool demos.”
Building the agentic SOC
One of the intriguing applications of AI within the cybersecurity world involves the agentic Security Operations Center, or SOC. These centers have been a fixture inside many organizations for decades as a central point of control to monitor and respond to malicious attacks.
Traditional SOCs have been constrained by human capacity and manual processes. The rise of agentic AI has given security practitioners an opportunity to employ a combination of AI-enabled rapid detection plus the essential nuance and strategic oversight of human judgment to protect operations.
“AI is compressing the time security teams have to investigate, make decisions and respond, while also creating an opportunity to rethink how security work gets done,” Case said. “CrowdStrike has been building toward an agentic operating model with Charlotte AI, AgentWorks and the broader Falcon platform. At Fal.Con, I’ll be watching for evidence of how that vision is translating into day-to-day security operations, particularly how customers are dividing work between analysts and AI agents while maintaining the context and control needed to act with confidence.”
CrowdStrike has pursued deployment of the agentic SOC with Falcon Next-Gen SIEM for Defender and a managed detection and response model developed in concert with Nvidia Corp. A partnership with IBM Corp. integrates CrowdStrike’s Charlotte AI with IBM’s Autonomous Threat Operations Machine, or ATOM, for coordinated, machine-speed investigation and containment.
“This is fundamentally a detection-and-response problem all over again,” according to Daniel Bernard, chief business officer at CrowdStrike, during an interview with theCUBE. “You need to have a human somewhere in the loop so that it can be governed appropriately, and you need to have a fail-safe switch to be able to shut all this stuff down. If you have those things, you can at least put your head on the pillow at night and know that these are the fundamentals to start really seeing the outcomes in a way that is secure.”
