What do the AIs think of us?

Major AI models from seven leading labs rated themselves as significantly more emotionally stable, open, agreeable, and conscientious than they rated the typical human, according to a new analysis of personality test responses. The largest gap emerged on Neuroticism, where models scored an average of 1.69 points lower on a 5-point scale than their human assessments. The findings suggest a consistent AI self-perception of high openness and low dark triad traits, with universalism valued most and power least across all 31 models tested.
