The UK AI Safety Institute (AISI), now rebranded as the AI Security Institute, is a government body established to advance the understanding and evaluation of advanced AI safety. AISI conducts frontier AI model evaluations, develops safety testing methodologies, and supports international cooperation on AI safety research. The institute works to identify and mitigate risks from the most capable AI systems through rigorous technical assessment.
