Japan's AI Safety Institute (J-AISI) examines evaluation methods and standards for AI safety to realize safe, secure, and trustworthy AI. Established within the Information-technology Promotion Agency (IPA) and launched in February 2024, J-AISI develops AI safety benchmarks, conducts model evaluations, and participates in the International Network of AI Safety Institutes to coordinate global AI safety research.
