U.K.’s Humanoid raises $1.35Bn, Prime Movers Lab leads funding

U.K.-based AI and robotics startup Humanoid raised $152 million in Series-A funding on Tuesday, led by U.S.-based Prime Movers Lab, boosting its valuation to $1.35 billion and making it the U.K.'s first robotics unicorn. The company plans to use the capital to launch the beta version of its robotics platform in Q4 2026, begin mass manufacturing of wheel-based robots, and develop its AI brain KinetiQ.

Humanoid, the AI and robotics startup based in the U.K., completed its Series-A funding on Tuesday. It raised $152 million in this round bumping the company’s valuation to $1.35 billion. The development has officially made Humanoid U.K.’s first robotics unicorn.

U.S.-based Prime Movers Lab, that invests in scientific startups around human augmentation and energy, lead the funding round. Schaeffler, Bosch, Fubon Financial Holding Venture Capital, and Aglaé Ventures were others who participated in the funding.

“The new capital will fund Humanoid’s next phase of growth, strengthening its technology leadership and accelerating its commercial deployments and business expansion,” the London-based company said.

Humanoid was founded in 2024 by Artem Sokolov. The company launched HMND 01 Alpha last year as its flagship humanoid robot built as a workforce assistant to fill the gaps in industrial automation and logistics.

The fresh capital, Humanoid said, will be used to launch the beta version of its robotics platform, slated for the fourth quarter of 2026. It also plans to start the mass manufacturing of wheel-based robots and grow the development of its AI brain dubbed KinetiQ.

“Humanoid’s valuation reflects rapid execution and the technology’s shift from research to commercial deployment, demonstrating that Europe can build and scale globally competitive Physical AI companies,” the firm added.

Agility Robotics, Apptronik, Figure AI, Boston Dynamics, and Neura Robotics are among other robotics players to advance the technology.

Germany-based International Federation of Robotics (IFR) — which is touted as the international representative agency for the robotics industry — said in January that the valuation of industrial robot installations reached $16.7 billion. In the near future, the IFR estimates that AI, automation, humanoid reliability, and alternatives to physical labor shortages will act as drivers of the sector’s growth.

Earlier this year, Tether lead a $1.4 billion funding in NEURA Robotics.
