Yesterday we speculated about some of the possible music use-cases for Meta’s new AI agent, Muse. Ticketing was high in our thoughts. And in Meta’s, it turns out, for Ticketmaster is an early partner for Muse.
Or rather, it’s a “connector” in Muse, which fans can choose to add to their version of the agent. It will then recommend concerts, sports matches and other live events that match their interests, including providing seating options and ticket pricing.
Fans wanting to actually make a purchase will then be popped out to Ticketmaster’s site, so for now, Muse isn’t actually doing the purchasing for them – although that does seem to be Meta’s ultimate ambition for how its agent will be used.
This is Ticketmaster’s latest move to tie itself into AI and voice-assistant ecosystems. It also has integrations with Gemini, Claude, ChatGPT and Amazon’s Alexa+.
In separate Muse news, fans of the rock band Muse have started chattering about social-media handles. The band used to be @muse on Instagram and X, but this summer switched to @museband. And this week, Meta’s Muse team have been posting from @muse on both platforms.
Were Muse compensated in some way to persuade them to make the switch? That’s unclear for now. But fans have been chuckling at the sight of Meta execs accidentally tagging the band’s new handle when promoting the AI agent’s launch this week.
