It’s clearly the day for interesting, creative uses of AI around music. Joining Engram in our news lineup today is ClassicalBot, a project launched by Slovakian developer Róbert Druska.
It started as a way to map classical-music concerts in his home country, before expanding to the world.
“From the start, this project was meant to be an experiment into how far the AI automation can go, and almost every part you see – source discovery, concerts extraction, program analysis – is done by AI in some form,” he explains on the site.
There’s a breakdown of how this is done in this blog post, including a “magic box” and a “crawler factory”. Druska sees potential for the tech he’s built beyond music too.
“This idea of automated crawler factory could be extended to any use case. We could create a loop to cover all restaurant menus in a city, eshop prices, job offers, all kinds of events, company data,” he wrote.
First spotted by the Bliss Music Library Management Blog, ClassicalBot is a fascinating glimpse at what a single developer can whip up.
Is it a commercial business? That remains to be seen, but as an encouragement for other people to see what they can build, we think it’s very interesting indeed.
