Live translation is getting more personal this month. DeepL Voice now preserves who’s speaking and how they sound, and Google’s Gemini 3.8 Live handles speakers switching languages mid-conversation.

On the model side, GPT-6 Astra is leading translation benchmarks, and Cohere’s new open model, North Small Translate, claims to beat both DeepL and Google Translate.
