Tesla China has begun rolling out version 2026.14.13 of its in-car software, formally integrating ByteDance’s Doubao large language model into the Model 3, Model Y, Model S and Model X. The update is being delivered in batches to newly delivered vehicles and some existing cars.
Doubao is integrated as a standalone in-car app and provides voice-based interaction. The service offers four voice options and five modes centered on real-time information queries, conversation, storytelling, English practice and debate. Tesla’s release notes say the model can provide real-time information and hold more natural conversations.
The update turns Tesla’s China-specific AI plan into a customer-facing feature delivered through the car’s software system. Tesla’s voice-assistant setup also assigns Doubao to commands such as navigation, media playback, air-conditioning adjustments and owner-manual queries, while DeepSeek handles broader AI interactions.
