The agent's voice mode is rolling out on desktop and mobile, five weeks after Grok Bot launched with persistent cloud computers.

SpaceXAI is adding voice conversations to Grok Bot, giving users a hands-free way to direct the persistent AI agents it launched in August.

A demonstration shows a call-style interface with a live waveform, microphone control and hang-up button as a Bot asks for approval to schedule a board deck review.
The update expands the input layer for Grok Bot, SpaceXAI's attempt to package autonomous software agents as named coworkers rather than disposable chat sessions. Users create Bots for specific jobs, give them access to applications and websites, and assign work through a conversation. Each account receives a persistent computer in Cursor's cloud with a browser, filesystem and terminal.
A Bot can continue working after the user's laptop or phone is closed. It can also retain role-specific context, learn repeatable workflows and run routines on a schedule. SpaceXAI has positioned the product for jobs including sales research, support queues, recruiting, expense management and bug reproduction.
Voice makes that system easier to reach when typing is inconvenient. A user could speak an assignment from a phone, leave the Bot to work across connected services and return when it needs a decision. The demonstration's approval request is central to the design: Grok Bot is built to take actions inside logged-in software, so a voice session can lead to changes outside the conversation.
Five weeks of rapid expansion
SpaceXAI introduced Grok Bot in beta on August 11th. The initial release covered desktop and iOS for subscribers to eligible SuperGrok, Cursor and Cursor Teams plans. SpaceXAI widened plan access on August 26th and opened Grok Bot to enterprise customers on September 3rd.
Current Grok Bot documentation lists macOS, Windows, Linux, iPhone and Android support. Bots remain synchronized across devices, and background work continues on the cloud computer rather than the device running the interface.
The voice rollout also connects two product lines SpaceXAI had previously presented separately. The standard Grok assistant already supports hands-free conversations, while SpaceXAI sells real-time speech-to-speech models through its developer platform. Grok Bot applies a similar conversational interface to agents that can operate browsers, applications and files.
That distinction raises the stakes for reliability. A spoken request to summarize a document ends with an answer. A spoken request to update a customer account, prepare an email or change a calendar can produce an external action. Grok Bot's usefulness depends on preserving a clear record of what the user requested, what the agent changed and which steps required approval.
SpaceXAI's Grok Bot security model allows sensitive actions to stop for approval, while passwords, two-factor authentication and CAPTCHAs can be handed back through computer takeover. Voice adds another way to issue instructions; it does not change the underlying access boundaries.
Those boundaries deserve attention as users create larger rosters. Every Bot belonging to one account uses the same persistent cloud computer and can access its shared files, browser sessions and logins. SpaceXAI's documentation explicitly warns users against treating separate Bots as security boundaries. A finance Bot and a recruiting Bot may have different conversations and memories, but they still operate on common infrastructure within the account.
SpaceXAI has been designing Grok Bot around delegation rather than constant supervision. In a September 3rd account of the product's design, SpaceXAI described shifting the interface from a list of chat histories to a roster of persistent agents with names, roles, memories and visible work states. Voice pushes that approach further: calling a Bot resembles handing work to a colleague more closely than opening another prompt window.
The rollout is a small interface change with a larger distribution objective. Agent software becomes easier to use when assigning work takes less effort than completing it manually. SpaceXAI is betting that a voice call can become the shortest path from an instruction to finished work inside the user's existing tools.
