SK Hynix plans to issue 17.79 million new shares, with each ADR representing ten common shares on the Korea Exchange. The company will trade under the ticker symbol SKHY, with when-issued trading set to begin on July 10, 2026.
The original fundraising target sat closer to $29.4 billion before being adjusted down to approximately $28 billion, or 43.141 trillion won.
The timeline has moved quickly since SK Hynix filed confidentially with the SEC around March 2026. Formal proceedings advanced in June, with a marketing launch on July 6 and pricing expected on July 9, just one day before trading kicks off.
Why SK Hynix matters to the AI trade #
The company’s leadership position in HBM3E chips, the latest generation of high-bandwidth memory, has made it a critical partner for NVIDIA and other AI infrastructure companies.
Shares climbed 174% in the six months leading up to July 2026. Over the prior year, the stock surged an astonishing 636%.
The Nasdaq listing isn’t purely about raising capital, though the proceeds will fund expanded manufacturing capabilities and equipment investments.
