The 'Claudeforce' partnership lets sellers query and update live CRM data without ever opening Salesforce itself, signaling a fundamental shift in enterprise software design.
Salesforce and Anthropic announced a sweeping expansion of their partnership, branded “Claudeforce,” that embeds Salesforce’s CRM platform directly inside Anthropic’s Claude AI. The centerpiece product, called Salesforce in Claude, ships with 37 pre-built sales skills covering everything from meeting preparation to deal health reviews and pipeline analysis. Sellers can query, update, and act on live CRM data without leaving Claude’s interface. It’s available to select pilot customers now, with an open beta planned for September.
A $5 billion vote of confidence #
Salesforce’s investment in Anthropic was valued at approximately $5 billion as of mid-2026. The company also plans to spend around $300 million on Anthropic tokens in 2026 alone, primarily to power internal coding workloads.
The integration runs on Anthropic’s Model Context Protocol (MCP), an open standard that allows AI models to interact with external tools and data sources in real time. Salesforce added support for MCP Apps in February 2026, enabling bi-directional flows of context between its platform and Claude. Hosted MCP Servers reached general availability in April, providing secure connection infrastructure for AI agents operating in enterprise environments.
Marc Benioff described the combination as an “enterprise hat trick”: a top-tier AI model in Claude, coding agents for developers, and productivity tools for end users.
Claude was designated as the foundational model for Agentforce 360, Salesforce’s AI agent platform, with a particular focus on regulated industries like financial services.
The disappearing-app thesis #
The plugin for Claude CoWork handles the kind of tasks that currently eat up a sales rep’s morning. Before a client meeting, a rep can ask Claude to pull the latest deal status, summarize recent interactions, flag any risks to the pipeline, and draft talking points, all without toggling between tabs. For engineering teams using Claude Code, the integration extends into development workflows, connecting Salesforce’s platform capabilities to the coding environment where internal tools get built.
Slack integration is also part of the roadmap. Given that Salesforce acquired Slack in 2021, weaving Claude into that messaging platform creates a scenario where CRM intelligence surfaces wherever teams are already working. Industry-specific solutions, starting with financial services, are being developed alongside the core product.
What this means for enterprise AI competition #
Rather than building its own foundational model, Salesforce is outsourcing that capability to Anthropic while retaining control over the data layer and the business logic. The $300 million in planned token spending suggests this isn’t a pilot. It’s an operational commitment at scale.
