Ripple puts AI agents inside its $1 billion corporate treasury bet

Ripple has embedded AI agents into Ripple Treasury, the GTreasury platform it acquired in October as part of a $1 billion corporate treasury push, adding GSmart tools that monitor liquidity, forecasting and reconciliation and recommend actions that require human approval before execution. The release expands GSmart, first launched in June 2025, across more of the treasury workflow and adds a policy layer called Knowledge Studio plus an Ask GSmart assistant for querying corporate financial data. Ripple said 60% of eligible customers have enabled its Risk Insights feature and 44% use Forecast Insights, and that financial calculations run on deterministic software while AI interprets policies and explains recommendations.

Ripple is putting AI agents into the corporate treasury business it spent $1 billion to enter last year, expanding software that can monitor a company’s cash, risk and forecasts and propose what its finance team should do next.

The new GSmart tools sit inside Ripple Treasury, the former GTreasury platform Ripple acquired in October, per a Thursday release.

Agents can monitor processes ranging from liquidity and forecasting to reconciliation, flag a problem, recommend an action and cite the company policy behind that recommendation. Nothing executes until a person approves it, Ripple said.

The distinction is useful in finance, where letting a chatbot hallucinate its way into a multimillion-dollar cash movement would be somewhat less amusing than getting a restaurant recommendation wrong. Ripple said financial calculations are handled by deterministic software, while AI is used to interpret policies, find patterns and explain recommendations.

GSmart predates Ripple’s ownership of GTreasury and was first launched in June 2025. The latest release expands it across more of the treasury workflow and adds a policy layer called Knowledge Studio alongside an Ask GSmart assistant for querying corporate financial data.

Ripple says 60% of eligible customers have already enabled its Risk Insights feature and 44% use Forecast Insights.

The rollout also pushes further on the strategy behind Ripple’s GTreasury purchase. CoinDesk reported earlier this year that the company had begun putting digital assets directly inside its treasury software, allowing corporate finance teams to manage them alongside ordinary cash. And the system can now be used to managed both traditional and digital assets.
