Blockchain and financial technology company Ripple announced that it has significantly expanded the scope of GSmart, the AI capabilities within its enterprise treasury management platform, Ripple Treasury.
According to the official statement from Ripple, GSmart was developed to enable finance teams to receive AI-powered decision support in cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, risk analysis, reconciliation, and reporting processes. Ripple also stated that GSmart is already being actively used by institutional clients.
AI Makes Suggestions, Humans Make the Decisions! #
One of GSmart’s notable features is that the artificial intelligence doesn’t handle financial transactions entirely on its own. The system suggests specific actions or procedures to companies when it deems necessary, and also indicates which company policy or control mechanism the suggestion is based on. However, human approval is required before the transaction takes place.
At this point, Ripple positions this approach as a “managed AI” model.
According to the statement, the new features aim to enable GSmart to utilize artificial intelligence agents in various financial processes. The system will, it states, “analyze cash flow forecasts, monitor liquidity positions, identify financial risks, support reconciliation processes, perform reporting and analysis, and detect unusual risks and policy violations.”
Ripple also stated that, according to the data, 60% of eligible institutional clients have started using the Risk Insights feature, and 44% have started using the Forecast Insights feature.
Ripple Vice President of Treasury, Renaat Ver Eecke, stated: “Every CFO is under pressure to embrace AI, but they are also responsible for ensuring that every financial decision is explainable, manageable, and compliant. Instead of asking clients to blindly trust an AI system, GSmart ensures that control of every decision remains human, while offering transparent recommendations within each organization’s own treasury policies. This is not just AI-driven treasury, it’s treasury-driven AI.”
According to experts, the GSmart announcement does not directly reveal a new $XRP usage volume or $XRP purchasing mechanism. Therefore, a direct and significant short-term impact on the $XRP price is not expected at this stage. However, the development is important in terms of Ripple expanding its infrastructure in the field of corporate finance.
