THE PLATFORM FOR AGENTIC ENGINEERING
Bring the agents you already use, or build your own. Panolayer maps your whole codebase from the source so you can see how it fits together, gives each agent its own worktree, and checks every change it makes against what the rest of your code expects. You see regressions, and why they happened, before they touch your branch.

Agents write code faster than anyone can review it. #
An agent adds a feature, the tests pass, and it runs fine. Two days later, a caller that expected the old behavior crashes, and you’re the one digging through a 1,200‑line diff to figure out why.
Agents work from the files they’re shown. In a complex codebase, the consequences of a change live in the files they weren’t. Panolayer maps your whole codebase from the source, so you and your agents both start from how it actually fits together.
01 / Architecture
Navigate code you didn’t write #
Connect a repo and Panolayer parses it into a map of your architecture including modules, functions, classes, callers, and dependencies. See what calls what, what depends on what, and how a change impacts the rest of the system. The map is parsed from the source, not generated by a model, so the same code always produces the same map. Verification runs on this same map.
How Architecture works 02 / Build
Bring the agents you already use
Twenty coding agents are in the Agent Marketplace, including Aider, Claude Code, Cline CLI, Codex CLI, Gemini CLI, and GitHub Copilot CLI, plus Panolayer Agent. Install the one you use with one click and start it on your project from the same page, without setting anything up in the terminal.

Design your own agent loop
An agent’s behavior comes from its harness. How it plans, what it checks before it says it’s done, and what it does when a step fails. In most tools that harness is fixed. With the Graph Builder, Panolayer exposes the full agentic loop as a graph, so you can decide what runs, in what order, and what happens when a step fails. Publish it to the Agent Marketplace and it runs like any other agent.
How Graph Builder works 03 / Verify
Catch regressions when your code changes #
Every time you save a file or an agent finishes a task, Panolayer checks the change against what your code expects, based on its function signatures, its docs, and how each caller actually uses them. Results come back in seconds, compared with the state before the change, so you only see what this change broke, with the function, the affected callers, and the evidence for each one.
How Verify works 04 / CHANGES
See which files need your attention #
Before you commit, you want to look at what changed. But after a few agents have been working, that can be thousands of lines across dozens of files, and most of it is lockfiles, config, and small edits. Panolayer scores every changed file by risk and tells you why, so you know to open the ones that matter most first and skim through the rest. When you’re done, commit and push from the same screen.

- 02### Open a repositoryOpen code you already work on, or start with a sample repository.
- 03### Verify your codeSee each failure with the function, the expectation, what changed, and the callers it affects. See every changed file on the Risk Spectrum.
- 04### Inspect your codebasePanolayer parses the repository and shows its architecture. Create a living document, or ask a question about any part of it.
- 05### Keep buildingFix failures yourself or have Panolayer Agent fix them. Install more agents from the Agent Marketplace, build your own loop, and keep going.
Questions #
What is Panolayer? #
Panolayer is an agentic coding platform and desktop app for macOS. It maps your codebase from the source so you can see how it fits together. Your agents work side by side, each in its own Git worktree, and every change is checked for regressions before it can merge into your branch. Memstate is Panolayer’s built-in memory feature for coding agents. It no longer accepts new standalone signups and is available inside Panolayer.
Which coding agents does it work with? #
Panolayer Agent and twenty third-party agents are supported. The full list is in the agent reference.
Does it replace my editor? #
No. Panolayer runs beside the editor you use now. Open the same repository in both, and Panolayer picks up your changes as you save.
What does “verification” mean here? #
Panolayer works out what your code is expected to do from function signatures, docs, how callers use each function, and any rules you write. Then it checks each change against those expectations and everything that depends on the changed code. A failure names the function, the expectation, what changed, and the callers affected. New failures are kept separate from ones that were already there.
How fast is it? #
Verification comes back in seconds, so you can run an agent, check the result, fix, and check again without leaving the task. Speed varies by language, framework, and repository structure.
What languages are supported? #
TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, Go, Rust, and Java, among others.
Where does my code go? #
Your repository and Panolayer’s index of it stay on your Mac unless you sync or share them. Features that use a model send the relevant code excerpts and prompts to the provider you’ve configured, under that provider’s terms. Agents like Claude Code or Codex CLI make their own network calls, as they would outside Panolayer. Panolayer keeps your account data while your account is active, and afterward only as needed for support and legal obligations. You can delete your local project data from your Mac at any time.
Is Panolayer in beta? #
Yes. Panolayer is in public beta on macOS. Everything on this site is available to use today, and we’re still improving it based on what developers tell us. If something breaks or doesn’t work the way you expect, tell us.
Keep building. Keep understanding. Keep control.
