Oracle shares moved higher on Thursday after the company unveiled a deeper partnership with Google Cloud that will bring Google’s Gemini artificial intelligence models into Oracle’s enterprise software, giving businesses more AI tools to automate everyday operations.

Oracle shares (NYSE: ORCL) were up about 3.3 percent in early trading, helped by the announcement and strength in the broader technology group.

The collaboration will see Gemini integrated into Oracle AI Agent Studio for Fusion Applications, a platform that allows companies to build and deploy AI agents to perform tasks with little or no human involvement.

Customers will be able to deploy Google’s latest AI models to build autonomous workflows across a range of business functions, from finance and human resources to supply chain management, the companies said.

The company also plans to integrate Gemini directly into its Fusion Cloud Applications and Oracle NetSuite, bringing AI to its flagship enterprise software products.

The rollout will feature two of Google’s latest models. Gemini 3.1 Flash Lite is optimised for lower-cost, faster tasks, and Gemini 3.5 Flash is optimised for more complex workloads, such as advanced reasoning and generating presentations and video content.

Oracle said the new integration will not restrict customers to Google’s models. Rather, the company will remain committed to a multi-model strategy, allowing businesses to choose the AI model that fits their needs.

This flexibility is becoming more and more important as companies try out different AI systems for different business use cases. To deliver the best business results, organisations need the agility to select the right AI model for each problem,” said Chris Leone, executive vice president of applications development, Oracle.

“Bringing Gemini to AI Agent Studio gives our customers greater choice as they build next-generation agentic workflows,” he added.

NetSuite, Oracle’s cloud-based business software platform, is also part of the partnership.

“Bringing Gemini into the fold will help companies automate routine work and convert data into actionable insights faster,” said Evan Goldberg, founder and Executive Vice President of NetSuite.“Gemini is a game-changer for NetSuite users,” said Goldberg, “integrating leading LLMs to provide more visibility, automate work and seamlessly move from insight to action.”

The announcement comes amid a growing competition among enterprise software providers, who are racing to embed generative AI into their products.

Rather than building every AI capability in-house, many software companies are partnering with leading AI developers to provide customers with access to the latest models and to enable them to pick the technology that best suits their needs.

The expanded relationship with Google Cloud builds on an already growing partnership around cloud infrastructure, databases and enterprise applications for Oracle.

Investors took the latest announcement in stride, with Oracle shares rising as the company consolidated its place in the fast-shifting enterprise AI market.

As businesses increasingly look to deploy AI agents to automate workflows and improve productivity, Oracle’s decision to embed Gemini, while still supporting multiple AI models, may make its software ecosystem more attractive to enterprise customers trying to navigate the fast-moving AI landscape.
