OpenAI appointed Wiz and Cisco veteran Dali Rajic as its new chief revenue officer (CRO).

Rajic joins the AI giant after serving over two years as president and COO of Wiz, the cloud security firm Google Cloud gobbled up this year for a cool $32 billion.

OpenAI’s CRO joins as the frontier model maker aims to enter the channel and become the enterprise supplier of choice for compute-heavy agentic AI solutions. OpenAI positioned Rajic as helming “a world-class go-to-market team,” with President and Co-Founder Greg Brockman hoping he would “turn what we’ve learned into repeatable execution as we build out the full system to make AI broadly useful for people and businesses.”

Rajic’s prior experience at Wiz includes chief operating officer (COO) for Zscaler. He joined the cybersecurity firm in 2019 as its CRO and president for go-to-market, before becoming COO for a two-year stint starting in 2022.

The biggest patch on his CV was his seven years-plus at AppDynamics, overlapping with Cisco’s acquisition of the observability platform in 2017. Beginning there in 2012 as VP of sales for the North America West side of the business, Rajic would eventually lead all Americas sales in 2016 before becoming CRO in the same year. After the Cisco buyout, Rajic became chief customer and revenue officer.

Other roles Rajic served included positions at BMC Software, Verint, EMC Computer Systems, Teletrac, and Standard Register.

Commenting on his new role, Rajic said: “OpenAI has extraordinary technology, products that more than one billion people already love, and enormous market pull. I’m excited to join the team, build on the momentum already in place, and lead the revenue organization as we help customers realize the full value of AI.”

He replaces Denise Dresser in the role, who leaves OpenAI after only nine months in the CRO position.
