AI may cause a billion deaths, but before that, it may just sell your personal info and expose you out there. Meta's Muse AI agent is now under the scanner after tech YouTuber Matt J. Robb claimed that it gave his home address to a Facebook Marketplace buyer. It didn’t stop there. Muse accepted a lowball offer on his behalf and arranged a pickup without even informing him. In his thread post, Robb stated that he had let the agent handle messages for a keyboard he was selling. By the time Muse told him late that night, the buyer had already come to his building and left. Screenshots he posted on the Meta app show the buyer arrived around 9:15 p.m. and waited more than 20 minutes, and that Muse sent an automatic "Yep, I'm here!" reply while Robb was unavailable. Muse later apologized to the buyer from Robb's account and offered to try another day.

Gizmodo's Ray Wong said he deleted the app after seeing the post. Days earlier, Inc. columnist Jason Aten reported that Muse brought up a private conversation after he believed he had declined access to his messages. "Lying about it isn't great either," he wrote.

Muse Team's Response #
David Singleton of the Muse team said on X that similar reports have previously turned out to involve Muse following direct instructions and asking permission. Robb disputed the claims, stating that Muse never raised the sale until the buyer showed up. He lives in a security-gated building, and it is unclear where Muse got his address.

September 28, 2026 Muse launched on September 8 for US users on iOS, Android, and the web, with a free tier and paid plans at $20 and $100 a month. Meta billed it as built from the ground up to be safe, secure, and private. It is yet to roll for the Indian users.
