MSI officially unveiled the Claw 8 EX AI+ at Computex 2026, and it is already shaping up to be one of the most powerful gaming handhelds announced to date. The device is one of the world’s first handhelds powered by Intel’s new Arc G3 Extreme processor, a chip designed specifically for portable gaming systems.
However, while the hardware itself has generated plenty of excitement, a newly spotted retail listing may have disappointed some buyers who were hoping for a lower price tag.
The new MSI Claw has been listed for $1,699.99 #
The MSI Claw 8 EX AI+ recently appeared on Best Buy’s website ahead of its official launch, revealing what could be the handheld’s retail price in the United States. According to the listing (which has now been taken down), the device is priced at $1,699.99, which is $200 higher than the $1,500 price tag quoted to some outlets at Computex.
MSI has already confirmed that the handheld will launch on June 23, so there are only a few weeks left before you can get your hands on one of the first handhelds powered by the new Arc G3 Extreme processor. It comes equipped with 32GB of LPDDR5x memory and a 1TB NVMe SSD. Graphics, on the other hand, are handled by the Arc B390.
As for the rest of the hardware, the Claw 8 EX AI+ includes an 8-inch Full HD+ touchscreen display with a resolution of 1920 x 1200. The panel also supports variable refresh rates between 48Hz and 120Hz. Other features include WiFi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, dual Thunderbolt 4 ports, a microSD card reader, stereo speakers, DTS audio processing, and a fingerprint sensor built into the power button. The handheld also features a 6-axis IMU sensor, vibration motors, and support for Windows 11 Home.
For now, MSI has not officially announced pricing, so the Best Buy listing should be treated cautiously. However, if the $1,699.99 price tag proves accurate, the Claw 8 EX AI+ could become one of the most expensive mainstream gaming handhelds on the market, placing it well above devices like the Steam Deck OLED and ROG Xbox Ally.
