After a rare three-week hiatus between macOS developer betas 4 and 5, Apple has now rolled out beta 6 just a week after last Monday’s build. Here’s what to expect.
Apple rolls out macOS 27 developer beta 6 #
With the final stretch before its official release fast approaching, Apple is now rolling out macOS 27 Golden Gate beta 6 to all developers.
Last week, beta 5 introduced new app icons for several apps, including Siri, Chess, and Safari, but didn’t introduce any other relevant features (or bugs, for that matter).
macOS 27 Golden Gate introduces a dedicated Siri app, unifies corner radii across windows and apps, and adds AI-powered features to Shortcuts and Safari, allowing users to create extensions and automations with simple prompts.
The system also introduces a new pull-to-refresh gesture in Safari, which many see as an early sign that Apple is making macOS more touch-friendly ahead of the rumored touchscreen MacBook Pros.
macOS 27 Golden Gate also revamps the iPhone Mirroring app, allowing users to resize its window to different aspect ratios, a change similarly seen as foreshadowing the rumored foldable iPhone Ultra, which is expected to be announced next month.
The release build for macOS 27 Golden Gate is 26A5416b.
