First of all, let’s be honest.
AI is here to stay.
And more prominently in coding.
Modern SOTA (State-of-the-art) AI models have already achieved respectable performance level in coding and software engineering tasks.
And it won’t be surprising at all that in the next few years, we would have models that are capable of one-shotting a whole app with perfect code quality and zero security issues.
This exact idea is at the root of the discussion about: Should you still learn Software Engineering?
Even though this post isn’t about answering that question, I am of the opinion that it is still and will always be a valuable skill to acquire, even when we reach the AGI era. But, let’s save that discussion for another day.
