Senator John Fetterman is doing that thing again where he makes both parties uncomfortable. The Pennsylvania Democrat took to X on Saturday to dismiss what he called “AI doomsdaying,” sharing a Bloomberg analysis that examined China’s narrowing gap with the United States in the artificial intelligence race. His message was blunt: American hand-wringing over AI risks is a gift to Beijing.

Former President Donald Trump has championed data center projects as engines of local job creation and tax revenue, making AI infrastructure expansion a visible plank of his economic messaging.
