Collecting web data often starts with a lot of work before you get anything useful. You need to figure out which pages to visit, what information to extract, how to handle multiple results, and how to turn everything into a dataset you can actually use.
But what if you already know what you want?
Maybe you need a list of businesses in a particular city, product prices from Amazon, job listings from Indeed, or transcripts from YouTube videos. You shouldn't have to build a scraper from scratch every time.
We're introducing Spidra Templates, ready-made data collection workflows that let you choose a task, provide a few inputs, and get structured results.
No scraper configuration, CSS selectors, or custom extraction scripts required.
Templates are available in the Spidra dashboard and through our API, SDKs, and MCP server, so you can use them directly or build them into your applications.
What are Spidra Templates? #
A template is a ready-made workflow for a specific data collection task.
Instead of starting with an empty scraper and configuring how to collect information, you start with the result you need.
For example, if you want to find businesses on Google Maps, you can open the Google Maps Leads template, enter the type of business you're looking for, specify one or more locations, and run it.
Spidra handles the collection process and returns the results in a structured table, with fields such as business names, phone numbers, websites, addresses, and ratings.
The same idea applies to other tasks, whether you're researching products, collecting job listings, analyzing reviews, or gathering information for an application.
Each template provides its own inputs and output fields, so you know what information to provide and what to expect back.
Find the right template for your task #
The Templates catalog covers different types of web data, including lead generation, e-commerce, jobs, real estate, social media, research, reviews, and documents.
Here are a few ways you can use it.
- Find businesses and contact information. Search Google Maps for businesses in specific locations, collect available contact details, or extract public contact information from company websites.
- Research products and prices. Collect product details from Amazon, explore search results, or retrieve best-selling products in a category. These datasets can support competitor analysis, product research, and price tracking.
- Explore job opportunities and hiring trends. Search job listings on Indeed or LinkedIn using keywords and locations. Retrieve available information such as job titles, companies, locations, and descriptions.
- Collect social media and content data. Retrieve YouTube video information and transcripts, explore public social content, or collect information relevant to content and audience research.
- Research property listings. Collect publicly available real estate information from sources such as Zillow, including property details and prices.
We're also expanding the catalog into additional areas. Recent additions include templates for Kalshi, CoinMarketCap, and Polymarket, alongside other new data sources and research workflows.
And one website doesn't mean just one template.
Google Maps, for example, can be useful for discovering businesses or collecting reviews. Amazon can be used for product details, keyword searches, or bestseller research. Each task needs different inputs and produces different results, so you'll find separate templates designed around those needs.
We're continuing to add new templates and expand what you can do with existing sources.
You can explore the available options in the Templates catalog.
How to use a template #
Using a template is straightforward. We'll use Google Maps Leads as an example, but the process is similar across the catalog.
1. Choose a template
Sign in to your Spidra account and open Templates from the dashboard sidebar.
You can browse the available categories, search for a website or task, or choose from the featured templates.
Select Google Maps Leads to open its configuration form.
2. Enter what you're looking for
Every template asks for the information needed to run its task. For Google Maps Leads, you can enter a business category, the locations you want to search, and the number of search-result pages to collect.
Let's say you want to find dental clinics in Lekki, Lagos.
You would enter:
- Business type: roofing contractor
- Area: - Dalla, Texas
- Phoenix, Azizona
- Tampa, Florida
- Pages per area: 1
The template also offers an option to look for public email addresses and social media profiles on the businesses' websites.
You can leave that option off if you only need Google Maps listing information.
3. Run the template and review your data
Once the inputs are ready, click Run. Spidra collects the requested information and presents the results in a table. Each row represents a record, while the columns contain the fields relevant to that template.
For the example above, a completed run returned business names, categories, phone numbers, websites, ratings, and addresses.
You can review the data directly in the dashboard, choose which columns to display, or switch to JSON view to inspect the full structured response.
You can also export the results as CSV for spreadsheets or JSON for applications and other data workflows.
For a complete walkthrough of this example, including the dashboard steps and output, see our guide to extracting Google Maps leads with Spidra.
Run the same templates from your code or AI agent #
Templates aren't limited to the dashboard. Each template is also accessible through the Spidra REST API, official SDKs, and MCP server. This means you can start with a template in the dashboard and use the same workflow programmatically when you're ready to build an application.
For example, you can run the Google Maps Leads template using a single API request:
curl -X POST https://api.spidra.io/api/templates/google-maps-leads/runs \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $SPIDRA_API_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{
"inputs": {
"query": "dentist",
"areas": ["Lekki, Lagos"]
},
"wait": true
}'
The request uses the template's identifier and the same inputs you would provide in the dashboard.
For a completed run, the response includes the run status, input settings, usage information, and structured rows.
Here's a shortened response from the example:
{
"status": "completed",
"rowCount": 20,
"rows": [
{
"position": 1,
"title": "Hilton Dental Clinic Lekki",
"category": "Dentist",
"phone": "+234 701 007 5124",
"rating": 4.9
}
]
}
This example shows a previously completed run. Results can change as the underlying website data changes. Longer-running requests may return a run ID that you can use to retrieve the results after processing finishes.
Using the SDKs, you can call templates directly from your application without writing the HTTP request yourself.
And if you work with AI assistants such as Claude or Cursor, the Spidra MCP server lets your assistant discover available templates, inspect their inputs, and run them using natural-language requests.
For developers, this means you can use a ready-made data collection task as part of a larger workflow instead of rebuilding it from the beginning.
See the Templates documentation for the API, SDK, and MCP options.
Save your workflow or monitor it for changes #
Sometimes you only need a dataset once. Other times, you want to collect similar information regularly.
Templates work with Spidra's Presets and Monitors to support both.
A preset saves a template with its inputs so you can run the same task again without filling out the form each time.
For example, you could save a Google Maps Leads search for restaurants in Lagos and rerun it whenever you need an updated list.
A monitor takes this further by running the template on a schedule and checking for changes.
Depending on the data you're collecting, that could mean detecting newly returned businesses, job listings, products, or other records.
You can receive notifications through email, Slack, Discord, or a webhook.
This is useful for recurring work such as competitor research, market monitoring, and tracking new listings.
You can learn more about Spidra Monitors and how they work with your saved jobs.
How much do templates cost? #
Templates use the same credit system as the underlying Spidra tools. You don't need a separate template subscription. The cost depends on the work a template performs, such as the pages it reads or any additional extraction steps required.
For example, a template collecting search results may use credits based on the pages processed. A template that also visits individual websites to collect more information can require additional credits.
Every template provides a cost estimate before you run it, so you can review the expected usage first.
Browsing the catalog, inspecting templates, and estimating costs are free. Failed pages and failed runs aren't charged.
Templates are available across Spidra plans, including the free plan, which comes with initial credits to explore the platform.
For more information, see how Spidra credits work.
Don't see the template you need? Tell us. #
We're building Templates around the kinds of data people actually need.
The catalog is growing, and we know there are many more websites and workflows worth supporting.
If you're looking for a particular website, dataset, or extraction task that isn't available yet, we'd love to hear about it.
Maybe you want to collect a specific type of business information, monitor a particular marketplace, extract records from a research platform, or build a dataset that you currently have to assemble manually.
Tell us what you're trying to achieve.
It helps if you can share the website, the information you want to collect, an example URL, and whether you need the data once or regularly.
You can reach the team through our contact page or email [email protected].
We review these requests as we decide what to build and improve next. Your use case could help shape a future template.
Start with the data you need #
Spidra already provides tools for searching, scraping, crawling, and extracting information from the web. Templates make common data collection tasks easier to get started with.
You don't need to figure out the entire extraction process before seeing useful results. Choose a ready-made task, provide your inputs, and get structured data you can inspect, export, or use in your application.
And when the task becomes something you need regularly, you can save it, schedule it, or run it through the API.
