Nvidia poached Hewlett Packard Enterprise’s (HPE) former North America sales VP.
Monica Gille departed HPE in early August after more than 25 years at the firm but provided no concrete confirmation as to her next role. A LinkedIn post dated August 17 revealed she joined Nvidia as the VP of global partnerships and channels.
The exec said her new role would encompass a “sharp focus on accelerating the enterprise AI and software stack business adoption,” adding: “I look forward to working closely with our incredible partners and channels to unlock new commercial opportunities and drive #AI adoption across industries.”
Gille joined HPE in 2000 from the now-Oracle-owned StorageTek, where she started out as a European storage architect and competence center manager before moving on to work across various sales management and director roles in Switzerland and later wider Western Europe.
A move to the San Francisco Bay Area in December 2020 saw the exec take on the role of VP for sales strategy in North America. Further promotions saw the exec drive North American sales for industry verticals spanning telecom, financial services, and “digital natives business[es] focused on AI,” among others. She was also a leading force in developing HPE’s partner ecosystem, driving strategies for cloud services, data, and AI.
