Hello from Zernote

Zernote, a startup founded by Miron Beneval, launched Zernote Live and Zernote MCP, tools that help businesses analyze user interviews. Zernote Live suggests follow-up questions during calls and tracks conversation drift, while Zernote MCP converts recordings into a format that costs about 2.5 times fewer tokens and connects directly to Claude or ChatGPT. The tools are designed to augment researchers, not replace them, and ensure every insight is traceable to verbatim quotes.

This is the first thing we have published here, so it is mostly an introduction.

We help businesses understand their customers from real conversations. In practice that means a tool for people who run user interviews.

Zernote Live. During the call, it listens along with the researcher. It suggests follow-up questions and tracks when the conversation drifts away from the plan. The interview plan is uploaded before the call through the LLM connector.

Zernote MCP. After the call, the recording has to become something the rest of the team can use. Zernote converts what it captured into a format that costs about 2.5 times fewer tokens, then connects it over MCP straight into Claude or ChatGPT. There is no manual export step in between.

We split it in two because researchers told us the hard part lives on both ends. It is hard to listen closely and keep an overview of what you have already asked at the same time. And afterwards the transcripts end up in one tool while the questions about them get asked in another.

Augment the researcher, never replace them. Research is a craft. Our job is to carry the cognitive load, not to take the chair.

Every insight has a source. If a claim can't be traced to what a real person actually said, it doesn't ship. Quotes stay verbatim.

Those are two of our four values, and they shape the product more than anything else on this page.

Product changes as we ship them, with what actually changed for you rather than a list of internal work.

Playbooks for running research with Claude and an MCP connection: what works, what turned out to be a bad idea, and the exact steps.

Notes from our own interviews. We have run dozens of them with researchers, studio owners, founders and PMs, and dozens more customer development calls in the year before that. When we claim something about how researchers work, it comes from those calls, and we will say which ones.

Zernote MCP is live at zernote.com/mcp and listed in the Claude connector directory (you can check it out here).

[Zernote Live](https://zernote.com/try/copilot) is in beta.

If you run user interviews and any of this sounds relevant, write to Miron at [mironbeneval@zernote.com](mailto:mironbeneval@zernote.com) and tell us what you think. Most of what we built came out of conversations like that.
