GPT-6.1 Terra in GitHub Copilot

OpenAI's GPT-6.1 Terra is now generally available in GitHub Copilot for Copilot Pro, Pro+, Max, Business and Enterprise users, GitHub announced. The model is designed for everyday agentic coding and terminal work at a lower cost than GPT-6.1 Sol, and in early testing solved noticeably more terminal and C# coding tasks than GPT-5.6 Terra. GPT-6.1 Terra is billed at provider list pricing under usage-based billing, is selectable across VS Code, Visual Studio, Copilot CLI, the Copilot cloud agent, JetBrains IDEs, Xcode, Eclipse, github.com and GitHub Mobile, and rolls out gradually; Business and Enterprise administrators can manage access through the model policy in Copilot settings.
