Google has unveiled the Gemini Omni 1.1 Flash model, a revamped generative AI model that is expected to provide users with more advanced features in terms of video generation and editing. The new model can generate a video that continues a pre-existing sequence, make a video connection between two user-specified frames, generate videos from small reference clips, and also support rendering videos at up to 4K resolution.
For those who require faster and cost-effective previewing of their videos, there is also an output resolution of 360p offered by Google.
Gemini Omni 1.1 Flash: What’s New #
One of the improvements in the new version is the model’s capacity to analyze a larger part of a video during the extension process. As per reports by Google, Gemini Omni 1.1 Flash can analyze up to 10 seconds of the footage before continuing the scene, unlike the latest versions that analyzed only the last second.
Creators can extend a clip in 10-second intervals, and the resulting extended clip will have a maximum length of 40 seconds. The extended sequence will retain the original look, motion, and storytelling of the original video.

The model is able to deal with complex camera motions such as rotating 360 degrees or zooming in and out.
The new Gemini Omni 1.1 Flash provides developers with a 360p generation mode, which gives the developers a faster and cheaper alternative to test before going on to higher quality. The reason why Google says that 360p videos can be produced up to 60% faster than 720p videos at one-third price, makes the 360p video production mode a useful tool for rapid development.
Once developers have the material ready, they will be able to produce it in 1080p or 4K quality.

The availability of the Gemini Omni 1.1 Flash API is available to developers on Google AI Studio platform, while enterprises have access to the model using Agent Platform API. In addition, Google has provided some resources for developers to leverage the capabilities of the model's new video generation features such as documentation and a cookbook.
As for consumers, the release of the model is planned across the globe for AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra subscribers on Google Flow. Also, the subscribers have the ability to utilize the scene extension capability through the Gemini application. Google stated that Adobe, Figma Weave, GMI Cloud, and Runway companies were already integrating the model into video generation processes.
