Gartner Elevates SoundHound, Salesforce in Conversational AI

Gartner published its July 7, 2026 Magic Quadrant for Conversational AI Platforms, and CMSWire reports SoundHound AI moved into the leaders quadrant while Salesforce entered that quadrant for the first time. The practical signal for enterprise AI teams is that conversational platforms are being judged more on governance, multimodal agent capabilities, integration depth, and consolidation risk than on chatbot novelty alone. CMSWire also reports IBM moved into the visionaries quadrant, Google remained high among leaders, Netomi debuted as a challenger, and Cognigy and Boost.ai dropped from their 2025 positions. Gartner describes the market as evolving around agentic AI, multimodality, governance needs, and M&A activity.
