Elon Musk announced on Monday that xAI is giving another free reset on token usage to users of the Grok bot on X. The billionaire posted the update on his profile informing the followers that anyone running into usage caps could expect renewed access. This update comes without paying extra or waiting out a cooldown period of a week on the app. The move comes roughly three weeks after a previous reset that Musk tied to the rollout of Grok 4.6, when he acknowledged that a lot of people were hitting their limits faster than expected. Musk did not specify how large the new allotment is or how long it will last before limits kick back in. But assuming it is a few dozen.
In a separate announcement Musk made a day earlier, on August 31, about an upcoming feature called automatic token optimization, aimed at trimming how many tokens the bot burns per response and eventually lowering costs for users. No launch date has been given for that feature.

How To Avail Bonus Token?
To use the new reset, X users can access it directly from Grok's settings menu on desktop or mobile, where a reset token option now appears for eligible accounts. You can go to the tab where it shows the reset graph. Click on it. You will see a new window open showing the limit reset option alongside the upgrade prompter. You can click on the free reset option. It will have no bearing on the upcoming weekly reset. Enjoy the free token.
Grok 4.7 Roll Out Soon
Meanwhile, in response to a user’s post on X/Twitter, Musk also informed the netizen that the next iteration, Grok 4.7, comes out in 10 days, which has left the users euphoric.
