Dash0 is now a Silver member of the Agentic AI Foundation (AAIF). Open standards are fundamental to how we build Dash0. As agents become a bigger part of how software is built and operated, we bring that same commitment to the emerging agentic ecosystem.
The AAIF is becoming an important home for the open protocols and projects shaping the agentic ecosystem, including MCP. We build daily with these technologies, and we believe that comes with a responsibility to participate in the communities and help shape where it goes next.
That's why we're joining.

Dash0 is built around OpenTelemetry. You query metrics with PromQL, and our dashboards are based on Perses. None of those formats are ours.
We've made the same choice elsewhere. We built OTelBin and made it freely available. Our coding agent telemetry plugins are open source and emit OpenTelemetry. And with Polar Signals, we brought in the team behind Parca and their work on open standards for profiling.
This isn't just idealism. We don't want proprietary formats to be the reason you stay with Dash0. We go to great lengths to avoid spawning proprietary formats.
We think the same principle should apply to agents.

The agentic ecosystem is moving incredibly fast. We're getting better at describing individual model calls, but there is still a lot of work to do when it comes to describing the behavior of an agent.
Which tools did it call? What was it trying to accomplish? What happened across an entire agent run? And how do we represent all of that consistently without every framework and vendor inventing its own vocabulary?
These are questions we're already running into while building and instrumenting agentic systems ourselves.
They're also some of the conversations we want to be part of within the AAIF.

One area we're particularly interested in is the AAIF's Observability & Traceability working group.
There's an interesting intersection between the protocols emerging for agentic systems and the work already happening around GenAI in OpenTelemetry. It's also an area where we think we can bring useful experience from our work with OpenTelemetry, Agent0, MCP, and agent instrumentation more broadly.
There are still plenty of open questions here, and that's precisely why we think it's important to participate in these conversations as the ecosystem develops.
I've already been involved personally since joining the first AAIF Ambassador cohort in June. Dash0 becoming a member takes that involvement a step further and gives us another way to participate in the ecosystem as it develops.
