Daily update - Oct 7, 2026

Lichess added image import to its Board Editor on October 7, 2026, letting users select "From image" or drag and drop a picture of a board position onto the board. The feature runs on the ChessQ Lite V4 recognition model from Joël Seytre's ChessQueries project, used under the PolyForm Noncommercial license, and Lichess said it will reach its mobile app soon.
