What do you do with an iPad that’s sitting unused on your desk? If you’re Howard Spaeth, you turn it into a dashboard for everything that might need your attention.
Howard runs a web design agency focused on WordPress and has been using UptimeRobot for as long as he can remember. But UptimeRobot isn’t the only service he needs to keep an eye on. Alerts and tickets were coming from different tools, and checking them all meant jumping between different places throughout the day.
So Howard decided to build something himself.
With Claude Code and the APIs from UptimeRobot and his other tools, he put together a simple dashboard that collects everything in one place. UptimeRobot alerts can sit alongside Freshdesk tickets, BlogVault notifications and alerts from the other services he uses. When an issue resolves, it disappears from the dashboard.
What’s left is what still needs his attention.
The first version took him around two to three hours to build. It isn’t meant to be fancy. It sits on the iPad within arm’s reach, so Howard can glance down, see what needs attention and get on with his day without checking a bunch of different tools.
