AMD has turned to Core Scientific for a leasing deal worth more than $14 billion, covering 2.5GW of compute capacity.
The US data centre firm will provide at least 530MW of capacity to AMD for 15 years from 2027, with a contract option to add another 2 GW of capacity from five of Core Scientific’s US sites.
According to AMD Chief Strategy Officer Mathew Hein, the deal expands access for customers including “model builders, cloud providers, and enterprises” to “deploy AMD AI solutions at scale," he said in a joint statement from the two companies.
