Special Report:** Airtasker has launched on ChatGPT, becoming the first local services marketplace to let users complete a booking end to end within a single conversation on an AI platform.**
The launch means users can now post, browse and assign a task without leaving the conversation, removing the redirects and app switching that have limited many AI integrations to date.
Airtasker (ASX:ART) said ChatGPT can help users write a task description, suggest a budget and help assign a Tasker, all within the same chat.
The launch comes as Airtasker’s own data shows visitors arriving from AI assistants are substantially more likely to sign up and post tasks – and tend to post higher-value jobs – than the average visitor.
Airtasker CEO and founder Tim Fung said the integration closed the gap between AI providing information and actually getting a job done.
“That’s the gap we’ve closed, so the conversation ends with the job done rather than a list of links,” he said.
“People arriving at Airtasker from AI assistants are the most ready-to-act visitors we have ever seen, but sometimes struggle with the details when explaining what they need done – which is where chat can help.
“Gardening, flat pack assembly, car servicing, cleaning and furniture removals are the types of tasks people will be able to book assistance for with Airtasker on ChatGPT.”

Most AI integrations stop at recommendations: the AI answers a question, then hands over the information, and the work of actually booking starts over on another app. Airtasker built the connection deeper, so the AI actually finishes the job. Users describe what they need once, in their own words, and the same conversation writes the listing, sets the budget, finds the Tasker and locks in the booking.
Under the hood is Airtasker’s Remote MCP server, a public endpoint covering both sides of the marketplace that any AI agent can connect to.
The launch positions Airtasker in agentic commerce, where AI agents don’t just answer questions but complete transactions, in this case hiring and paying a real person. ChatGPT is the first platform, not the last: because the server works with any AI agent, Airtasker says it can launch across further AI marketplaces and assistants as they open to third parties, with more integrations planned.
The launch comes as AI adoption continues to rise in Australia as Airtasker data showcases that visitors arriving from AI assistants are more than five times as likely to sign up as the average visitor, converting at a higher rate than any other channel and at more than two-and-a-half times the rate of search.
Those users also post tasks at nearly twice the rate of the average visitor, while the typical task they post is worth 20% more than the marketplace average.
Tasks posted by visitors from AI assistants have grown more than eightfold since late 2024, based on a comparison between the first three tracked months from November 2024 to January 2025 and the period from May to July 2026.
Airtasker data also showed that two-thirds of AI-referred tasks are hands-on local work, including removals, handyperson jobs, trades and cleaning.
Sydney and Melbourne are neck and neck, less than 1% apart, and together account for half of Australia’s AI-referred tasks, with Brisbane and Perth next.
Roy Morgan says 13.6 million Australians, or 58% of people aged 14 and over, used AI tools in an average four weeks in the March quarter of 2026, with ChatGPT leading at 10.5 million users, or 45%.
ChatGPT users will also receive $50 off eligible tasks posted through Airtasker’s connector with a minimum task price of $200, with the offer running until September 13, 2026.
