Codeifai takes ConnectQR into AI conversations with app for ChatGPT and Claude

Codeifai (ASX:CDE) has integrated its ConnectQR app with ChatGPT and Claude, letting users create, style and track QR codes through plain-language conversations, CEO John Houston said. ConnectQR had 8,541 user accounts as of October 8, up more than 750% from close to 1,000 in its October 2024 update, and the integration uses the Model Context Protocol so one implementation serves both AI assistants. The company cited OpenAI's 1.2 billion weekly ChatGPT users and Anthropic's more than 300,000 business customers as of September 2025 as the potential distribution channel.

  • ConnectQR will let users create and manage codes through AI conversations
  • User accounts have grown more than 750% since integrating with Canva in October 2024
  • Retail industry’s barcode overhaul creates demand for richer product information

*Special Report:*Codeifai has integrated its ConnectQR app with ChatGPT and Claude, giving users a way to create, style and track QR codes through plain-language conversations.

The company says the addition will add new entry points to its dynamic QR platform alongside its Canva app and web dashboard.

Codeifai (ASX:CDE) CEO John Houston said putting ConnectQR inside ChatGPT and Claude would place the product where many people now begin their everyday work.

“A user can create, manage and measure QR codes in a ‘Chat’ conversation, and every code they save will bring a new account onto our self-service platform,” he said.

The company plans to list the apps in the assistants’ directories, placing ConnectQR where users can request a code while working rather than searching separately for a QR service.

That could shorten the path from an idea to a new account, with each channel feeding the same self-service platform.

ConnectQR had 8541 user accounts at October 8, up more than 750% from close to 1000 in its October 2024 update.

From a prompt to a printed code #

Users will be able to start without an account, asking the assistant to generate a code for a website, wifi network, business card or social profile.

They can adjust colours and patterns in the conversation. Saving the code will prompt a ConnectQR sign-in or new account creation.

Account holders can create dynamic codes whose destinations change after printing, manage existing codes and interrogate scan activity through charts and maps.

For a business, that means updating the page behind a printed code without replacing its promotional materials, then checking which locations or campaigns attract scans. The company says its integration uses the Model Context Protocol, allowing one implementation to serve both AI assistants and potentially extend to others adopting the standard.

The potential distribution channel is substantial. OpenAI says ChatGPT reaches 1.2 billion people weekly, while Anthropic reported more than 300,000 business customers in September 2025.

Retail overhaul beyond the scan #

Dynamic QR platforms connect printed materials to content businesses can update and measure.

Their commercial value sits in managing that connection, rather than simply producing a scannable image.

Mordor Intelligence estimates the broader QR code market at US$15.23bn in 2026 and forecasts US$33.14bn by 2031, representing 16.82% annual compounding growth.

Retail’s barcode transition adds another demand driver.

GS1’s industry goal is to enable next-generation barcodes at retail checkouts globally by the end of 2027, alongside existing barcodes.

The overall industry direction suggests growing demand for live, updatable and actively maintainable product data and links.

Codeifai’s immediate focus is converting its expanding free account base. The company is employing targeted emails to users reaching their free allowance, better sign-up tracking and simpler email verification.

Accounts created through the AI assistants will use the existing plans and pricing, giving Codeifai another route to customers without introducing a separate product subscription.
