Cloudflare open-sourced Clef and Clef-flash, two "System One" decision models built on a frozen Qwen backbone with a joint schema head for parallel scoring, explicit calibration objectives and multimo…
A developer built a small local decision model on a 24 GB MacBook that returns a single lettered label plus a calibrated confidence score in one forward pass, using Gemma 4 E2B (4-bit) with a 52 MB ra…
MahaBodi, a Rust-based enterprise router from Laya, decides among up to 100,000 candidates in a single forward pass and beat Laya with a dense shortlist on entity linking at 100K Wikipedia pages (0.17…

A new arXiv study (2608.20371v1) comparing zero-shot Claude Haiku against fine-tuned NLU models for intent detection finds that fine-tuned RoBERTa beats Claude by 11.8 points on ATIS (95.9 vs. 84.1, p…
Researchers developed a new method for out-of-scope intent detection using MiniLM embeddings, treating it as a one-class classification task with multi-cluster boundary learning. The approach outperfo…
