ZeroFox debuts AI-first HNTR platform, starting with executive protection
Cybersecurity company ZeroFox Inc. today launched HNTR, an artificial intelligence-first platform that pulls the company’s digital risk protection and threat intelligence products into one service. The first application built on it, HNTR Executive Protection, targets threats against corporate executives. Both are generally available today.
ZeroFox runs the platform as a loop it names discovery, validation and disruption. HNTR scans for exposure attached to a customer’s brands, domains, people and assets. Where those signals connect, it groups them. An analyst then works on one campaign instead of a scatter of separate alerts. Threats that survive validation are handed to the ZeroFox Global Disruption Network for takedown.
The underlying data goes back more than a decade, pulled from the open, deep and dark web. ZeroFox analysts add intelligence they source themselves. The AI runs inside their workflows. The company’s reasoning is that a high-context threat still needs a person to make the call on it.
Executive protection went first because it is where the digital and physical sides of the problem meet. An attack on an executive often begins with someone at the door. It begins with a home address leaked online, an itinerary surfaced on a data broker site or hostile chatter in a forum days earlier. Most organizations still run cyber and physical security as separate disciplines, with different teams watching different feeds, and those early digital signals fall into the gap.
HNTR Executive Protection extends monitoring past the executive to family members, residences and travel. An Executive Risk Score quantifies an individual’s exposure and benchmarks it by percentile. The software also watches for shifts in online sentiment that can precede a physical threat, flags personal information about executives and their families that sits exposed publicly, including data they disclosed themselves, and ties travel intelligence to specific routes and destinations.
Russ Bentley, executive vice president of product at ZeroFox, said most executive protection stops at the executive while the actual exposure sits in “the family, the travel, the things disclosed without anyone meaning to.” Security teams do not need another alert in a queue, he added. They need the threat removed.
“Protecting an organization now means protecting its people across both digital and physical worlds at once,” said David Muse, chief executive of ZeroFox. “By monitoring the earliest signals of intent, across social platforms, the deep web and the dark web, we give security teams the one thing a purely physical posture can’t: time. Time to validate a threat, harden a location, and act before an online signal becomes a person at the door.”
Chris Steffen, vice president of research at Enterprise Management Associates Inc., said in the announcement that security teams are struggling to tell genuinely new threats from variations on familiar ones and that years of validated intelligence give analysts the context to spot the difference.

ZeroFox has been privately held since 2024, when Haveli Investments took it private in a deal with an enterprise value of about $350 million. The company was founded in Baltimore in 2013. Muse was named chief executive the year of the buyout.
