Zeabur discontinues AI Hub after its August security breach

Zeabur has permanently discontinued its Zeabur AI Hub service, shutting it down as a defensive measure after the security incident the company confirmed on August 28, 2026, and existing API keys can no longer send model requests through AI Hub. Zeabur said it re-evaluated AI Hub's maintenance cost and operational and security risks in Q2 2026 and concluded that continuing to operate the service was no longer the right choice. Unused paid AI Hub balances have been reconciled against payment and usage records and returned as Zeabur Credit, and Zeabur is accepting support tickets to convert those balances into cash refunds.

In response to the security incident we confirmed on August 28, we shut down Zeabur AI Hub as a defensive measure. After further evaluation, we have decided not to bring it back and are officially discontinuing the service. Existing API keys can no longer be used to send model requests through AI Hub.

AI Hub set out to solve a specific problem: in the age of AI, people deploying AI applications shouldn't have to sign up for and manage API keys from multiple model providers across different platforms. They should be able to enable, use, and manage costs in one place through Zeabur.

After launch, we found that AI Hub did lower the barrier to building AI products. As AI applications grew rapidly, it also helped us onboard people trying these tools for the first time, as well as advanced developers who wanted to iterate quickly.

As the service kept running, however, the team re-evaluated in Q2 this year the ongoing cost of maintaining AI Hub, along with the operational and security risks that come with it.

Taking these factors into account, and in line with the product direction Zeabur wants to invest in next, we concluded that continuing to operate AI Hub is no longer the right choice, and decided to discontinue the service.

For paid balance in AI Hub that had not been used, we reconciled it against actual payment and usage records and returned it as Zeabur Credit, which you can keep using on other Zeabur services. Here is where things stand: We understand that some of you would rather have cash than a Zeabur balance. So we are also accepting requests to convert AI Hub balances that have already been returned to your Zeabur balance into a cash refund. Just open a ticket at Zeabur Support and we will take care of the rest.

AI Hub helped many Zeabur users lower the barrier to using and managing AI models, and made it faster for more people to start deploying their own AI applications. Although AI Hub's journey ends here, the Zeabur team will keep improving the product experience and carry what we learned into Zeabur's upcoming products and services.
