After end of general support: no more bug fixes or security patches, no support cases. Hypervisors are a top-tier attack target; an unpatched hypervisor is a very different risk than an unpatched app server, because everything above it inherits the compromise. **Clock two: licensing.** Broadcom killed perpetual licenses in December 2023.
