The electric vehicle manufacturer today said that its Dogotix [robotics](/category/robotics) unit has raised more than $900 million in its initial funding round, bringing its pre-money valuation to $5 billion and post-transaction valuation to more than $6.3 billion.\n\nXPeng said it plans to use the investment to further develop hardware and software, collect data, train physical AI models, build mass-production facilities, and expand globally. Founded in 2016, Shenzhen, China-based Dogotix will remain a [subsidiary](https://www.therobotreport.com/tag/xpeng-robotics) of XPeng, with He Ziaopeng remaining CEO of both companies.\n\nFounded in 2014, Xiaopeng Motors Technology Co. or XPeng said it aspires to become a global leader in AI mobility. The Guangzhou, China-based [company](https://www.therobotreport.com/tag/xpeng-motors/) develops its full-stack advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS) technology and in-car operating system in-house, and most of its manufacturing takes place at facilities in China.\n\nXPeng [released](https://www.xpeng.com/news/019e3ad2f9789dd703de8a0282290180) its first [robotaxi](https://www.therobotreport.com/tag/robotaxi/) based on its GX platform in May, and it is still [working toward profitability](https://www.wsj.com/business/earnings/xpeng-net-loss-widens-amid-physical-ai-push-e44b31f1), said *The Wall Street Journal*.\n\n## XPeng plans to scale robot production\n\nXPeng [said it plans to produce](https://www.scmp.com/business/china-business/article/3360814/race-against-tesla-china-ev-maker-xpeng-launch-viral-humanoid-globally-2027?module=inline&pgtype=article) 1,000 [IRON](https://www.xpeng.com/au/explore/xpeng_ai_robot_iron) humanoids monthly by the end of 2026.
