WSL 3.0.1

Microsoft released WSL 3.0.1, marking the general availability of WSL containers (WSLc) for running Linux containers on Windows, including for AI workloads. The release notes list 10 changes, among them increasing the VM termination timeout to 30 seconds, adding STDIN support through the SDK, impersonating the caller before filesystem operations, and removing references to WSLC being in preview. The full changelog spans versions 2.9.13 to 3.0.1.

WSLc is generally available. Linux containers are central to modern development, from cloud-native applications to AI workloads.
