Wren AI said the integration routes questions through a single context layer that models metric definitions, table relationships, and business rules, with row-level and column-level security enforced in Wren Engine at query time. The ChatGPT app joins existing Wren AI connectors for Claude, Slack, Microsoft Teams, and the Wren AI MCP server, and Wren AI core is open source.", "body_md": "[The Wren Journal](https://getwren.ai/blog)\n\nProduct, News\n\n# Wren AI Is Now Live in the ChatGPT App Directory\n\nWren AI brings conversational business intelligence into ChatGPT. Connect your company's databases, ask in plain language, and get answers from live data with the SQL, visuals, and context behind them.\n\nWren AI Product Team\n\nUpdated: Oct 10, 2026\n\nPublished: Oct 10, 2026\n\nWren AI is now live in the [ChatGPT app directory](https://chatgpt.com/plugins/plugin_asdk_app_6a857f885b4481918098041ef8d6b61c). It brings conversational business intelligence, what we call GenBI, into ChatGPT: connect your company's databases, ask questions in free-form language, and get answers from live data with the SQL, visuals, and context behind them.\n\nNo new dashboard. No BI tool to learn. The chat you already work in.\n\nMost business questions start in a chat window. The answer should be able to arrive there too, from the real data, with the work shown.\n\n## What you can do with it\n\n**Ask in your own words.** \"Which regions missed target last quarter?\" does not need to be translated into a filter panel or a ticket for the data team. You type the question into ChatGPT, and Wren AI works out what it means against your data.\n\n**Get answers from live data.** Wren AI queries your connected database when you ask. The answer reflects what is in the warehouse now, not an export someone uploaded last week.\n\n**See how the answer was produced.** Every answer comes with the SQL that ran, a visual where a chart says it better than a table, and the business context Wren AI used to interpret the question. If a number looks off, you can check the query instead of taking it on faith.\n\n## Why this is more than a database plugin\n\nA model with a database connection can write SQL. Whether that SQL means what your business means is a separate problem, and it is the one Wren AI exists to solve.\n\nWren AI answers through a context layer rather than a raw schema. Metric definitions, relationships between tables, and your team's business rules are modeled once, and every question resolves against them. \"Revenue\" means the same thing whether it is asked in the Wren AI UI, in Slack, in Claude, or now in ChatGPT.\n\nThe same holds for access. Row-level and column-level security are enforced in Wren Engine at query time, based on who is asking, so the rules you already set do not depend on which chat window the question came from. We covered that in detail in [How Wren AI Enforces Role-Based Access Control on AI-Generated SQL](https://getwren.ai/post/how-wren-ai-enforces-role-based-access-control).\n\n## One context layer, wherever your team asks\n\nChatGPT joins a growing list of places where Wren AI already answers questions:\n\n- [Claude](https://getwren.ai/post/wren-ai-claude-directory-connector) , through the Claude Directory connector\n- [Slack](https://getwren.ai/post/wren-ai-slack-integration)\n- [Microsoft Teams](https://getwren.ai/post/wren-ai-microsoft-teams-connector)\n- Your own product or agent, through the API and the [Wren AI MCP server](https://docs.getwren.ai/cp/guide/integrations/wrenai-mcp)\n\nMost teams do not standardize on a single assistant. Analysts use one, engineers another, and the business side lives in chat. If each tool connects to the database on its own, each carries its own interpretation of the business. Routing them through one context layer means the definitions are written once and the answers agree.\n\n## Try it\n\nOpen [Wren AI in the ChatGPT app directory](https://chatgpt.com/plugins/plugin_asdk_app_6a857f885b4481918098041ef8d6b61c), add it to ChatGPT, and connect it to your Wren AI project. Then ask your first question.\n\nIf you do not have a project yet, [get started with Wren AI](https://getwren.ai) and connect a data source first. Wren AI core is [open source](https://github.com/Canner/WrenAI), so you can inspect the engine and the context model before you connect anything in production.\n\n### See governed GenBI in action\n\nWatch short demos of Wren AI turning business questions into governed SQL, charts, and reusable GenBI apps.\n\n[Watch product demos](https://getwren.ai/demos)\n\n## Related posts\n\n[Aug 09, 2026](https://getwren.ai/post/wren-ai-claude-directory-connector)\n\n### Wren AI Is Now Available in the Claude Directory\n\nWren AI is now listed in the Claude Directory.
