Perform legal work in Harvey, get a draft time entry created automatically in Aderant’s iTimekeep. That is the upshot of a integration announced today by the two companies.
With the integration, law firms that are customers of both Harvey and iTimekeep can connect the two products so that work done in Harvey is captured by the timekeeping system.
The companies say that the time capture includes matter context, duration, and an AI-generated narrative, which lawyers can then review, edit and submit.
“This integration is exactly the kind of connected experience that I would have loved when I was practicing,” Matthew Guillod, senior product manager at Harvey, said in a statement provided by the companies. “Entering time is painful, and this is the first step towards solving that pain.”
The companies say the integration offers advantages for both lawyers and firms:
- For lawyers, it reduces the hassle of reconstructing their time and provides them with richer, more comprehensive draft narratives.
- For firms, draft time entries are more accurate and detailed, meaning fewer edits and faster conversion of completed work into revenue.
In December, Harvey and Aderant announced a partnership they described as “market-defining” for the way it would bridge the gap between software for the business of law and software for the practice of law.
Today’s announcement builds on that previously announced partnership.
“Harvey already understands the work our clients’ attorneys are doing every day,” said Lisa Erickson, SVP of product management and AI at Aderant. “Integrating that knowledge directly into iTimekeep creates a more connected ecosystem for firms, enabling users to achieve more accurate time capture without requiring any changes to their billing process.”
