What I Built
WITH YOU is an AI-powered support companion designed for people going through difficult moments when reaching out for help can feel hard.
I built it for someone I care about who struggles with difficult moments and self-harm urges. Instead of creating another chatbot that tries to act like a therapist, I wanted to build something that could provide immediate support while encouraging connection with real people.
WITH YOU provides:

WITH YOU is not a therapist, medical professional, or replacement for professional or emergency support. It is designed to support the person while keeping real human connection at the center of safety.

How I Built It
I designed WITH YOU around a human-first support flow rather than a simple chatbot.
The experience begins with a user choosing “I'm having a hard moment”, after which they can select what they need and access appropriate support tools.
The application uses a soft card-based interface with muted blue, sage, lavender, and white tones to create a calm and approachable environment.
The main architecture is centered around:
User → Safety Support → AI Companion → Coping Tools → Human Support
A key design principle was to keep critical safety actions separate from ordinary AI conversation. The AI can support the conversation and help users find appropriate resources, but it should not be treated as the sole decision-maker for someone's safety.
~ Why Open Innovation Matters
Open innovation makes it possible for developers to build AI experiences around real human needs rather than only the use cases provided by closed platforms.
For a project dealing with deeply personal conversations, having greater control over the technology, customization, and data flow can be especially valuable. Open AI ecosystems also allow developers to experiment, improve, adapt, and build new approaches to problems that affect their communities.
For WITH YOU, the technology matters—but how that technology is used matters even more. The goal isn't to make AI replace human support.
The goal is to use AI to help someone take the next step toward it.
