The idea of 'speaking something into existence' has long been an alluring idea. Whether it's a powerful person commanding something be done, and those around them getting it done, or a metaphysical new-age 'manifestation' practice, or the sanctity of free speech as the foundation of a free peoples; the actualization of spoken word is such a powerful concept that the Bible's very first chapter exhibits our creator doing it no fewer than 8 times.
We are simultaneously eternally chastised for trying to become like God by eating of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, yet ceaselessly told to become more Christ-like. Are we flying too close to the sun with LLM agents? With merely a few spoken sentences, I can command the building of almost any piece of software imaginable. For less than a dollar a day you can become one whose will becomes manifest. Your ideas can become near-instant reality.
With 1's and 0's as your earth, wind, fire, and air, you can construct temples and towers, concoct da Vincian machines, explore Escherian enigmas - you can bend reality to your will. I feel almost Frankensteinian with the abominable hackjobs I have necromanced. Before the ubiquity of LLMs, we used to say software development was as much an art as a science. It now feels like neither. Software development has become magic.
