The project highlights the fun of turning photo bursts into mini animations, especially with unpredictable subjects like kids and pets.", "body_md": "# Wiggle wiggle\n\nI saw a [fun post on Hacker News](https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=48605561) about creating [wigglegrams](https://lmao.center/blog/wiggle-accidents/), and decided to try it for myself. Since I live in the Google ecosystem, I had Claude rewrite [the code](https://github.com/JCLemme/wiggle-wiggle) for Google Photos support. However, because of some limitations to the Google API:\n\n```\nreadonly\n```\n\nOh well, I could still use the script with local files. I created a [Google Takeout](https://takeout.google.com/) request for my photos, and it returned ~560GB worth of 50GB zips. That's a lot of photos! I wanted to test it on my most recent photos first, but Takeout doesn't give any indication whether Part 1 contains my oldest or newest photos. I suppose this is why I pay for gigabit internet...\n\nRegardless, I eventually downloaded everything and found some cool ones. It took a few minutes to process each 50GB directory, and produced roughly 1,500 wigglegrams with 15+ years worth of photos from my library. Most of them were two-frame animations like this.\n\nPretty neat, and perhaps closest to the [definition of a wigglegram](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wiggle_stereoscopy), but I like them more when they have 2+ frames and become mini animations instead. Kids and pets are the best because they move in unpredictable ways while posing. These are some of my favorites to share.\n\nFun stuff. Thanks [John](https://lmao.center/) for giving me a reason to walk down memory lane.", "url": "https://wpnews.pro/news/wiggle-wiggle", "canonical_source": "https://mattsayar.com/wiggle-wiggle/", "published_at": "2026-06-27 03:06:11+00:00", "updated_at": "2026-06-28 23:05:29.483547+00:00", "lang": "en", "topics": ["ai-tools", "developer-tools"], "entities": ["Google", "Google Photos", "Google Takeout", "Hacker News", "Claude"], "alternates": {"html": "https://wpnews.pro/news/wiggle-wiggle", "markdown": "https://wpnews.pro/news/wiggle-wiggle.md", "text": "https://wpnews.pro/news/wiggle-wiggle.txt", "jsonld": "https://wpnews.pro/news/wiggle-wiggle.jsonld"}}
